    How do you scout light for a dawn shoot?

    I'm heading to Candle Lake next month. How do you plan where to be before the light arrives?

      I check sun angles the night before, then walk the shoreline once in daylight. Nothing beats knowing where you'll stand in the dark.

      Find a clear eastern edge and take test frames during blue hour. At Candle Lake the light hits the far ridge about twenty minutes after sunrise.
